Joey Tomassoni
Founder & Lead VisionaryJoey is a husband, father, painter, pastor, applied theologian, and founder of Estuary, a faith-based start-up para-church non-profit. He has served in vocational ministry contexts for twenty-five years, including forming an experimental Christian community among Gen Z, two church plants, leading multiple international mission projects, and serving as lead pastor of Downtown Hope for eighteen years. His painting, writing, and content creation explore how a theological understanding of beauty informs the Church and her mission. Joey holds a Master's in Fine Arts (MFA) from American University, a Master's in Applied Theology (MTh) from the University of Oxford, and will continue his research through a PhD in the Fall of 2026. He and his family reside in Annapolis, MD.
Aaron Mayhew
Executive DirectorAaron has more than 20 years of experience in church and nonprofit leadership, pastoral ministry, and as a missionary. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a master of arts in leadership with a focus on pedagogy. When he’s not leading the Estuary Team, you can find him making brick oven pizza, firing up the smoker, pulling espresso shots, or spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their amazing daughters.
