FAQs

What is Estuary?

Estuary is a religious non-profit organization that started out of a local church in Annapolis, MD.  Our theological foundation stands in line with a historical Christian faith and we value the authority of Scripture and the Local Church. You can learn more about our statement of faith here.

What are Estuary Classes?

Estuary Classes are micro-equipping environments run through partnerships with local churches that prepare Jesus followers to have impact beyond their church walls—to live on mission where you already are in a way that forms new disciples who make disciples.

An Estuary Class practically prepares people from your church to begin taking steps to live on mission to reach their friends, neighbors and coworkers following Jesus' sending of the disciples in Luke 10.

An Estuary Classes are considered an official ministry of a local church, that is led by a member of a particular church and supported by the Estuary Team.

What’s the approach to Estuary Classes?

Our approach focuses on creating micro-learning communities designed to cultivate spiritual formation, vision development and the practical skills, resources and support needed to make lasting gospel impact.

What is the focus of Estuary Classes?

Estuary Classes follow Jesus’ model in Luke 10 and are designed to equip Jesus followers in 9 simple steps to living on mission. Jesus’ simple approach is one that he embodied, taught in Luke 10, was reproduced in the book of Acts, and reinforced through the epistles and first few centuries of the church.

When do Estuary Classes meet?

Classes meet bimonthly for 6 months. The 12 class sessions are organized into 3 phases designed to help participants take practical steps to live on mission. Some classes meet on Sunday morning before or after our service (Sunday school hour) and others meet during the week. They can be hosted in a local church facility, home, coffee shop or online.
